Steven and Tarah’s Whidbey Island Wedding was one of the most beautiful experiences I’ve ever captured. They gathered with all of their closest friends and family on one of the San Juan Islands to celebrate their love and commitment to each other. Whidbey Island is one of many islands in the Pacific Northwest. It’s full of open fields, trees, farmland, and quaint towns along the Puget Sound waters. It was the perfect place for a couple who loves to slow down and enjoy the little things in life.
Steven and Tarah are actually two very dear friends of mine. I was completely honored when they asked me to photograph their wedding on Whidbey Island. Their love is something so special and unique. They met on a dating app (like most people these days), but they quickly realized that this wasn’t just another Hinge date. They began to fall more in love with each other the more time they spent together. A few years later, Steven asked Tarah to marry him in Joshua Tree.
Since Steven grew up in the Pacific Northwest, a wedding on Whidbey Island made sense for these two. They decided on a beautiful venue called the Whidbey Wayfarer. Tarah has great style and a wonderful eye, and she did most of the wedding designing and planning herself. She chose to have everyone seated at a long table filled with eucalyptus, vintage dishes, and lots of candles. The environment was so romantic, intimate, and organic. Everything about this day felt slow, thoughtful, and intentional. Steven and Tarah are so deeply in love, and you can feel it in every image of them. Their guests were so excited to celebrate such a wonderful couple, and everyone danced into the night. This Whidbey Island wedding is full of magic, love, and meaning.
