Julie and Tony’s Butterfly Beach Engagement photos were so much fun! They met working for the same company, and ended up falling in love and getting engaged. Sadly, they are moving to Colorado, so they wanted photos that captured this season of life in Santa Barbara. You can’t get much more Santa Barbara than Butterfly Beach and the Four Seasons Biltmore!
Generally Butterfly Beach is beautiful and sunny, but sometimes a thick fog rolls in and hangs over the beach. As I was driving to our session, I saw the thickest of fogs hanging over the Four Seasons Biltmore and the beach. I am honestly a little bummed at this point. I love that dreamy sunset light on the beach!
To my shock and awe, I pulled up to the beach, and at that very moment the sun broke through the clouds. It was a miracle! All of a sudden, Butterfly Beach was basking in golden sunlight. I was so happy!
The fog eventually rolled back in, but not before we got some amazing photos of Julie and Tony! We ended our time at the beach by popping some champagne and doing a cheers.
We also stopped at the Santa Barbara Courthouse for some photos. You can’t beat the beautiful architecture of the courthouse, which is what makes it such a popular spot for Santa Barbara weddings and elopements. I’m so thankful that I got to hang out with these two for some Butterfly Beach engagement photos before they move to Colorado!
Julie & Tony looked absolutely amazing together all evening. Can you believe they were a little worried about feeling awkward in front of the camera? They walked away saying it was so fun and easy taking photos, and I love hearing that. That’s why I’m here – to make photos easy and fun!
