Cindy and Shang were supposed to have a big wedding with all of their friends and families present. Wow, don’t you miss celebrating and dancing with people like that?! Instead, it was just the two of them at Hotel Californian for a romantic elopement wedding in Santa Barbara. Like so many other couples, covid completely changed their plans.
From the minute I spoke with these two on the phone, I could tell they were so fun and laid back. Despite their initial disappointment about their postponed wedding, they were SO excited to get married!
Cindy was the most stunning bride. She went for a modern, chic vibe. She wore a short Sarah Seven dress and Alexandre Vauthier Shoes. Shoutout to Intrepid Floral Co for her gorgeous white orchid bouquet. Shang was equally as suave and wore a clean, black suit.
We started the morning at Hotel Californian, where the two of them got ready. Hotel Californian is full of unique tiles, white walls, and modern design. It’s the perfect venue for an elopement or wedding of any kind!
After we took some photos at Hotel Californian, we wandered around the Santa Barbara funk zone. The funk zone used to be an industrial area, but has been transformed into a world of fun breweries, restaurants, and wineries. We found so many cool urban pockets of goodness for photos. Cindy and Shang are the cutest together, and there were so many laughs!
We ended the day at the iconic Santa Barbara courthouse, where the two had their wedding ceremony. Covid doesn’t allow for the most beautiful wedding ceremonies (with plastic tents and masks being required), so we just focused on taking photos around the beautiful courthouse building and grounds.
