An El Paseo Wedding in Santa Barbara is always a special occasion, but this one was particularly so. The historic Santa Barbara restaurant is where the bride’s grandparents announced their engagement 65 years ago. After doing long distance for three years, the bride and groom were finally able to celebrate their marriage and new life together in this meaningful place!
Kristen and Mark met after college in a church small group. Kristen asked the whole group to help her move, truly just hoping that Mark would show up. Well, he definitely showed up. He actually risked missing a flight in order to help Kristen for just a couple hours! They ended up hitting it off, and continued talking once Mark flew off to pilot training.
It was a long three years of distance, and these two were SO ready to get married on their wedding day! With friends and family coming from near and far, it was such a joyful reunion.
The day started with Kristen getting ready in a cute downtown Santa Barbara Airbnb with her bridesmaids!
Kristen and Mark had their first look at the Santa Barbara courthouse. They were so unbelievably happy and full of laughter when they saw each other for the first time on their wedding day.
Eventually the bridal party joined the couple with cheers and hugs! After the bridal party took some fun photos together, everyone drove to El Montecito Church for the ceremony.
After an emotion-filled and beautiful ceremony, the bride and groom wandered off to the beach for the sunset. Meanwhile, the guests made their way to El Paseo Restaurant for the reception.
