It may have been raining during this Big Sur Engagement session, but it was such a blast. The California coastline is so special to Isaiah and Sydney. They’ve driven along highway 1 in their VW bus quite a few times, making memories along the way. It only made sense to do their engagement photos there!
Although, if there’s one downside to Big Sur, it’s that you can’t trust the weather report. Leading up to the shoot, we had no idea what we were going to get. We didn’t let that stop us from driving up the coastline, though. At the very least, we were planning to cozy up in our campervans for the weekend.
My husband and I have known Isaiah and Sydney for a long time, and they’re some of our closest friends. We eat meals together, go out together, go camping, surfing, climbing, and just have a ton of fun with them every time.
If you’ve ever been to Big Sur, you know it’s one of the most beautiful places along the West Coast. Giant rocks jutting out of the water, crashing waves, huge cliffs, fog, mist, trees, waterfalls – it’s breathtaking. We decided to stop near Plasket Creek Campground.
Well, as soon as we stepped out of the car, it started sprinkling. We laughed it off because when Isaiah proposed to Sydney on the beach a few weeks before it had been POURING, so some light rain didn’t feel too bad. These two were such troopers and wandered out onto the cliffs with me, rain and all. Thankfully, Isaiah and Sydney’s wedding was rain-free and absolutely gorgeous!
Just FYI, I’m literally always down for an adventurous Big Sur engagement session or wedding, so let’s go!
